Prayer Must Be At The Root Of It

Today's Gospel Truth ~ "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."  1 Timothy 2:1-2

Prayer, our way of communicating with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit is a wonderful method of keeping in touch with the Trinity.  Even though we call it prayer it is simply talking from our hearts with God - the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit in humility and reverence.  Throughout scripture we are encouraged to pray without ceasing, praying always with believing hearts, and to offer up prayers of thanksgiving.  It would seem like the Father was keen on making sure that we shared everything with him that happens in and concerns our lives.  We are told in the book of Jeremiah that when we seek Him, we will find Him. {Jer. 29:13}  Therefore, we can assess that God always had his own reasons for us coming to him in prayer.

When facing trials that we know are impossible to handle without him one of the questions we may hear on that final day is, Why didn't you come to Me about that concern?  We know and understand that our God's love is far beyond the love of any natural parent and thus with his abundance of love he wants to impart his love into us each and every day.  When we naturally share our concerns with a love one or friend many times we feel better just to get it off our chest.  Well we have a God who constantly invites us to give him our concerns so that he will not only fill us with his peace but also shift the care of the problem on him so that he in turn may provide the solution we will need.

This year there will be many things that will affect our lives such as family, church, employment, and political concerns just to name a few.  Therefore, based on scripture we have no excuse not to pray about everything that concern our lives.  We are admonished by our elder brother Paul, a dynamic Apostle of the New Testament to pray every way we know how to for everyone we know, especially for those in authority as they affect our lives in many ways.  Pray for them to have the love of God he encouraged, so that they will rule and lead like men and women of God in the earth so that we can go about God's business the way that is pleasing to him.  In this manner the word of God's love will go out freely to men and women everywhere to set captives free.  As we look for situations to change around us to benefit our Lives We Must Place Prayer At The Root Of It.  **AMEN**
