Don't Let Your Labor Be In Vain …… Resist Temptation

Today's Gospel Truth ~ "For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain."  1 Thessalonians 3:5

Before the act of sin a seed is sown, before the seed is sown there must be an environment for it to take root and grow in, which comes through a thought of negativity that has been embedded in the mind.  As Believers, we will not only have days filled with hope and joy but we will experience challenges and we will face temptations.  Just as having a negative thought, temptation is not the sin but it becomes sin when we act on the thought or the temptation.  We can avoid committing the sin of temptation by resisting it, after a period of time such thoughts won't even occupy space in our minds because of our immediate response to resist it.

Temptation is a very subtle trick the enemy uses on everyone, his purpose is to increase doubt in your heart and decrease your belief of what God has said to you and what the Word says about you, so that you will take your eyes of God who has given you his promise.  Satan's objective is to actually see every Believer broken and destroyed because they stand for and love God instead of him.  Nevertheless, the power to overcome temptation is within each of us which we received thru the Blood of Jesus.  Jesus gave us the easiest method for overcoming this conniving scheme which is to simply resist it using the Word.  When we use the Word of God to combat temptation it frees us from failure and at the same time it will restore us into wholeness.  When you feel like temptation is getting the upper hand on you, remember the good you have invested for God and resist it so that your labor won't be in vain.  **AMEN**

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."  Matthew 26:41

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."  James 4:7
